Fysisk kommer man ofte træt og slidt hjem. Og jo ældre man bliver, jo oftere sker det, og jo længere er man om at komme over det. Og til sidst kommer man sig ikke længere over det. Det har bidt sig fast som varigt mén. Og det koster dyrt, på den tid man har tilbage, til at udfolde livet i. Ufaglærte lever nemlig væsentligt kortere end faglærte og akademikere.
Den gennemsnitlige levetid for mænd i den højeste indkomstgruppe (de 25 pct. rigeste) er i dag 83,3 år, mens middellevetiden for mænd i den laveste indkomstgruppe (de 25 pct. fattigste) er 73,7 år. (ae.dk)
Men det behøver ikke at gå så galt. Der er en frakørsel før ulykken indtræffer, og den frakørsel hedder uddannelse. Og du kender den sikkert allerede. Du har måske bare lidt svært ved at få slået blinklyset til, svært ved at få skiftet bane og komme op ad rampen til den nye vej. Derfor har jeg samlet lidt argumenter for at slå blinklyset til, og forsøgt at gøre det lidt lettere at skifte bane og køre op ad rampen.
Ved at uddanne dig, øger du dine muligheder for selv at vælge sin fremtid, og du øger muligheden for, at dine ønsker, håb og drømme går i opfyldelse. Med en uddannelse, stiger din forventede levetid og livsindtægt. Med en uddannelse får du mere indflydelse på, og indhold i, dit fremtidige job. Du får kort og godt længere tid at leve i, og mere at leve for og af.
Valget burde være indlysende og let, men er det alligevel ikke for mange, hvis ikke de fleste. Og det er helt naturligt. De fleste mennesker trives bedst i vante, trygge omgivelser, og når de skal træffe færrest mulige komplicerede valg. Og kompliceret bliver det hurtigt, når man bevæger sig ind i det danske uddannelsessystem. Mulighederne er mange, og ofte uoverskuelige – og hvad vil man i det hele taget uddanne sig til, og nytter det overhovedet?
Hvad man vil uddanne sig til, er selvfølgelig individuelt, men at det nytter, er sikkert og universelt. Man får måske ikke drømmejobbet, selvom man uddanner sig til det, men man kommer tættere på, end uden uddannelse, og man står med bedre muligheder for at lande et andet job – måske endda et job i samme boldgade som drømmejobbet. Og jo før man begynder at undersøge sine muligheder, jo før kan man gribe dem. Det er bare om at komme ud af starthullerne. Et godt sted at starte, er på ikuf.dk.
IKUF står for Industriens Kompetence Udviklings Fond. IKUF yder tilskud til, at mennesker, der er ansat i industrien, kan uddanne sig, og dermed stå bedre rustet på fremtidens arbejdsmarked.
Siden rummer mange informationer og muligheder, hvilket selvfølgelig er et plus, men den kan af samme grund også virke uoverskuelig. I det følgende begrænser vi os derfor lidt, og snævrer vores fokus ind til listen over forhåndsgodkendte uddannelser. Det vil sige de uddannelser, som IKUF på forhånd kan garantere, man kan få støtte til. Listen er meget lang, så der er temmelig sikkert også en eller flere uddannelser, der er relevant(e) og interessant(e) for netop dig. Du finder listen ved at gå ind på ikuf.dk, og vælge først ”Vigtig information” og dernæst ”Uddannelser med mulighed for tilskud”.
Lidt nede ad siden dukker en liste op med en række overordnede uddannelseskategorier. Ved at klikke på ”+” ud for en kategori, får man en liste over de mange muligheder, der findes, under denne kategori. Og husk, du kan uddanne dig til stort set hvad som helst. Der er ikke krav om, at uddannelsen skal være relevant i forhold til dit nuværende arbejde. Du kan søge ud af ren og skær interesse for noget, også selvom du kun har tænkt dig at bruge det privat – eller slet ikke.
Når du har været listen igennem, og har fundet en eller flere uddannelser du synes er interessante, kan det være en god idé at søge flere informationer, såsom studiestart, -sted og -varighed, før du søger. Men gør det ikke til raketvidenskab. Klik på en uddannelse, følg henvisningerne til mere information på skærmen, og suppler eventuelt med en Google-søgning. Og noter endelig dine valg og relevante oplysninger ned undervejs. Så er de lige ved hånden, når du skal udfylde ansøgningen.
Selve ansøgningen er let at komme frem til. Det er blot at klikke på den relevante uddannelse fra listen over uddannelser, så får du et pop-up vindue, med en knap der hedder ”Søg om tilskud til denne uddannelse”. Her bliver det til gengæld lidt langhåret for de fleste, og det kan være en god idé at bede din fagforening om hjælp til denne del. De kan hjælpe dig hurtigt igennem din ansøgning, så du hurtigt kan komme i gang med at forme din fremtid, og i gang med at opfylde dine ønsker, håb og drømme.
Før du søger, eller får hjælp til at søge, kan du med fordel indsamle en række oplysninger, der skal bruges i ansøgningen. Hvilke oplysninger det præcist drejer sig om, kan du finde på ikuf.dk, under ”Sådan ansøger du”, ”Tjekliste før du søger”.
Og ja, det blev lidt langhåret til sidst. Det er ikke mindst derfor så mange ikke får gjort mere ved deres uddannelse. Men det er trods alt lettere, og bedre, at få det lange hår redt ud nu, eventuelt med hjælp fra fagforening og kollegaer, end at få det i klemme i postkassen i næste fyringsrunde, eller når kroppen en dag siger fra. Så mit råd er, at gribe fremtiden og komme i gang med en uddannelse, kort som lang, let som svær. Hjælpen er blot nogle få klik væk. Så hvorfor ikke tage det første klik allerede i dag?
